the very microscopic
molecular tip,
how do you tell
where
tree
stops
and earth begins?

spring
trees
sing.

Go among them,
then within,
and learn to hear.

Birdsong is
only
a glorious tribute
and
vain imitation.

my visits,

they say,

"Why don't you fly?

We envy you
your wings."

I say,
"What wings?"

They laugh politely,

a joke.
