Tree Talks 6 - 10

6.
Nature.
Unedited TV.

You
can watch
hours and hours
of dancing, depthless
pixels.

How long
since you watched
the real thing?

7.
The illusion
of discontinuity–
between us and them and it.

Re-connect.

The only thing
you have control over
is
your point of attention.
Move it habitually
to
a nearby tree
if
you really seek
health.

Otherwise,
learn
to enjoy
your pointless tantrum
and
stop complaining, please.
You’re
disturbing
my tree talk.

8.
Our quiet,
green friends.

We are so lucky
they share
the planet with us.

9.
Think of a tree.
Only think of it.

Don't worry
about visualizing it.
Just think
of one specific tree.

They speak,
you know,
but oh so softly,
oh so leisurely.

Oh so patiently.

They’re waiting
for you.

10.
Those burdened ones,
they are donkeys
who see big loads
and
who believe
big means heavy.
So for them,
the loads are heavy,
and as years pass,
their backs sag,
their faces are etched
deep with care
and
exhaustion.
Truly, they hoard
their share
of the countless burdens
which pass
onto and off of their backs,
and thus are
metaphysical Republicans all,
cherishing
the gold
that
is
dross.
