Three Poems
by An
Anonymous Reader
1.
We live in a world of
Superconductivity
Of cryotrons, masers, and diodes.
In the Sunday paper is an article on
The use of entropy for character recognition.
Like the knowledge
grows.
More names for more facts, for more inventions,
For new mysteries.
The unsolved problems no one dreamed of last year,
Urgent, demanding,
Compound with interest
To invalidate the old solutions.
I sometimes fear that in the confusion
Someone will take
The ones complement of Reality.
2. Loop
Another iteration.
Once again the worn familiar path.
Decisions made anew
The outcome never changed.
The endless round unbroken
Until
Cancelled
For time.
3. Decision Tree
There is no diagram for life.
We shift direction pseudo-randomly.
Each new series of events
Branches once again.
Change follows change.
Death merely
Another discontinuity.
