Fraught Faux Sonnet on Analogies of Human Emergences Out of the briny deep we crawled some years back and eventually on two legs slogged inland where we learned to pick things up and turn a planet in- to a kindergarten play pen where we now reside in fight-prone cliques. Simultaneously amoebic mind did climb the steep bank twixt mindlessness and this all-me-all-the-time twilit world of stuff and ever-greater nonsense accum- ulating dollars and bombs and SUVs, the sine qua nons of high, imperial culture. Twice-climbed creatures, we look back only to examine or to eat, sublimely content in our seeming dominance and blind in our adolescent certitude to third-climbed creatures who also dont look back except to examine or to eat. |
