1. Fallingwater
After years of thinking about it, finally Fallingwater.
A foggy October morning found me on the backroads of southeastern
Pennsylvania, headed for an 8:30 a.m. tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's iconic house.
(Reservations are required; there are two tours, a short one with no cameras allowed and a
complete tour with cameras allowed. You can find out more here.)
As Mary McCarthy observed on arriving in Venice: It seems that just about
everything that can be said about the place has been said.
I'll only add this: The house, photogenic as it is, looks even better in
person.
