We had a digital camera lying around the office not getting
much use, so we came up with a staff contest. The contest had two rules:1. Each staff member was to take the camera out of the office
and use it to photograph textures.
2. The textures had to be within 100 meters of the staff
member's home computer.
Eleven staffers entered, with some unusual results (but
that will come as no surprise to readers of Magellan's Log). Michelle Furr, our
Economics and Business writer, came back with the simplest and, we decided, the most
immediately appealing shots.
We set Angus Verspeeten, our in-house composer, to work on
Cake Walk, and combined his intriguing midi files with Ms. Furr's visually tactile (or is
it tactilely visual?) photographs.
Enjoy.
