The Ossification of Dominant Beliefs
by Sylvia Thodhiss
Consider
the line
between
rock cliff and sky,
visible
to neither,
of
interest, perhaps,
only
to the passing human
looking
up. Meanwhile,
back
at the hospital,
children
stalked by death
lie
bed-bound
seeking
surcease
in
Teletubbies
while
those at home
cling
and cling
to
flying
New
Yorker
apron
strings.
