Could it be that it's all a
big set-up, and what comes after the big two-beat pause (a.k.a. death) is a Realm of
Raucous Laughter where everybody-- EVERYBODY--gets the joke. "We took THAT
seriously???" Of course, this concept requires positing a framework so much vaster
than this one that ALL parts of the set-up can be seen as joke material. Buchenwald?
Cambodia? Stalinist starvation? The dead and deserted children of capitalist greed? It's a
stretch, isn't it?
